In this episode of Yamaha’s Whitetail Diaries we’re going out with Wade Middleton as he heads back to an area he’s had both good and bad memories at. Near this exact location was the scene of one of the most bizarre endings to a hunt he’s ever had that you’ll be able to see again. As we dive deeper into this hunt we’ll see just why this new area near that same spot is holding a lot of deer and why Wade has chosen to set up a pop up in the shade along the creek for an early season rifle hunt.
While on the hunt he’ll share insight on setting up the pop up the way he did, how they go in and out of the area in the heat of the day as well as several encounters with whitetail before the one he was hoping to see strolls by quickly. On this hunt he’ll be using the Thompson Center Compass II in 6.5 Creedmoor. His scope of choice is the Trijicon Huron scope that’s adjustable for the tight cover he’s hunting in.
